A4 on 300gsm cotton
This imaginary scene captures the isolation of a remote Australian township.
Early towns often sprang up on simple roads that led back to major towns or onwards to more remote logging or farming country. Partially cleared forests that offered protection from the sun also threatened life and limb during every fire and storm season. Not that much has changed in many bush towns.
I like the stillness and feeling of remoteness and heat in this painting.
