This painting is done on plain cellulose paper. I like to work on plain paper sometimes as it creates an urgency and rawness that you can sometimes miss working on traditional cotton. There’s no fiddling as paper will just start to pill and fall apart under the brush so you have to make your brush stroke and then leave it. Paper is more fragile of course so treat it kindly.
