36cm x 26cm
One of the joys of watercolour is the effect you get from glazing, or laying thin layers of transparent paint on top of an existing layer. In this atmospheric piece I wanted to get a bright green effect against blue skies, but in a way that a pure green pigment wouldn’t achieve. Pthalo blue went over a Hansa Yellow Light underpainting and the colour speaks for itself.
